I am Ashraf Saharudin

Photography has been a very captivating subject in my life.

It's all began back in 2003. Having a great start in academic channeled me toward a different field from what i am now. Choosing photography over mechanical engineering as my career path has never been better even though for some it was just something silly. Being able to do thing i am very passionate about had drove me to a very interesting and enjoyable life as passion drives me to perform and deliver only the best.

Experiences in various photography field had shaped a versatile and unique approaches in my photography style. While still studying, going in and out of the campus to meet my corporate and individual clients had been part of my student life. Nusantara Photography was registered in 2007, since then I've been working with various local and international company such as Oxford Business Group, NORTHPORT (MALAYSIA) BHD , Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad, MCIS ZURICH Malaysia Berhad, International Islamic University Malaysia and many more back in my "school day".

I left my engineering field and was offered as a travel photographer for a local travel magazine base in Kuala Lumpur. I was just a freelance photographer back then for the previous two years and full time travel photographer for another two interesting years. Running along with it, in 2008 i was offered as part time photography instructor for International Islamic University Malaysia for their co-curricular program under Student Development Division until now. Through this on going education channel I've developed various teaching method that fits for entry level and intermediate level of photography enthusiast for them to go farther into photography world either as full time photographer or serious hobby.

2010 was just awesome where my photography studio was first launched in October 2010 and it gets more exciting as I switched to fashion and portraiture. Working with fashion and lifestyle magazines, meeting new people, editors, journalists, celebrities, models and even photographers has really gets me going as i love meeting peoples.

It doesn't stop there, in mid April 2011, I was offered a post as Executive Editor for a Malaysian base, Malay language photography magazine name FOTOGRAFIKA under a very well known local photography magazine publisher PHOTO CREATOR PUBLICATION. Our first issue was launched in June 2011. Running along with FOTOGRAFIKA under the same publication are ADVANCE IMAGES(English) and PHOTO CREATOR(Chinese) magazine and we are now the heart and soul of our local photography scene since it is purely written by our professional local photographers for our Malaysian photography community as one big family. My hope is to see our local photography scene to stand proud of what we are and what we are trying to achieve, to produce among the best photographers in the world.
